Puerto Vallarta, Jal.- México es una economía sólida, moderna y abierta al mundo, que ha hecho de su comercio un poderoso instrumento de prosperidad, y que impulsa una política comercial «que derriba muros y construye puentes», enfatizó el presidente, Enrique Peña Nieto. Durante la Clausura del XXII Congreso del Comercio Exterior Mexicano y Entrega del Premio Nacional de Exportación, destacó que de enero a agosto de este año la dependencia económica del petróleo sólo representó 6.7 por ciento del total, gracias al incremento de las exportaciones de otros productos.
Indicó también que a pesar de la desaceleración económica que se vive en el mundo, el comercio sigue creciendo, en contraste con la década de los 80, cuando el país dependía en 70 por ciento de las exportaciones de hidrocarburos.
El mandatario enfatizó que este contraste «deja ver que las exportaciones siguen desarrollándose y en ruta creciente», además de que consolidan a México como un país que produce lo mejor para el mundo.
Ante empresarios de todo el país, reconoció que gracias a que las exportaciones no petroleras han crecido 12 por ciento, se compensa la dependencia económica de las exportaciones de petróleo, cuyo precio se ha reducido en últimas fechas.
Acompañado del gobernador de Jalisco, Aristóteles Sandoval, abundó que México se ubica como la quinta economía más abierta del mundo, del grupo de países del G20, pues su comercio internacional equivale a 63.1 por ciento del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB).
Indicó que en esos ocho meses de 2015 las exportaciones superaron los 252 mil millones de dólares, en un contexto difícil por la caída del precio del petróleo, pero en el que el comercio exterior es mayor al que había en 2012. El Ejecutivo federal detalló que el comercio con América del Norte se incrementó 5.5 por ciento en este mismo periodo, con más de 513 mil millones de dólares, mientras que con la Unión Europea se tiene un intercambio en el mismo rubro de mil 400 millones de dólares.
De igual manera, con América Latina y el Caribe, se han impulsado mecanismos para incrementar la presencia comercial, como el Tratado de Libre Comercio con Panamá y los acuerdos de cooperación económica con Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay. Otro avance en esta materia es el acuerdo con los países miembros de la Alianza del Pacífico para liberar 92 por ciento de su comercio.
México participa además en el proceso de negociación del Acuerdo de Asociación Transpacífico (TPP), que integrará la mayor zona de libre comercio del mundo y en la que sus miembros generarán 36 por ciento del PIB mundial, 23 por ciento del comercio mundial y 28 por ciento de captación de la inversión extranjera.
Peña Nieto destacó el reporte de que de acuerdo al Índice de Competitividad del Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), el país avanzó cuatro posiciones, al pasar del lugar 61 al 57, lo que comprueba que el proceso de transformación nacional sigue su marcha.
De igual manera dijo que con el resultado de la segunda licitación de la Ronda Uno en materia energética, se reveló la confianza e interés de los inversionistas de ser parte de la reforma en la materia.
Agregó que el nuevo sistema licitatorio en materia energética hace que las empresas compitan en una «cancha pareja», en la que hay garantía de transparencia, que los ganadores de esta ronda son quienes presentaron las mejores ofertas y que iniciarán la exploración y la extracción en los próximos meses. El presidente de la República reconoció a los exportadores mexicanos que con su labor han sido factor importante en la estabilidad del país.
Confió además en que con el Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología (Comce) y con la participación de todos los sectores, México logrará ser una nación más próspera, dinámica y de mejores oportunidades.
