Biarritz.- La película mexicana «La dictadura perfecta» ganó el Premio del Público de la 24 edición del Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de Biarritz, y «Un monstruo de mil cabezas», de Rodrigo Plá, el Premio del Jurado, anunció el certamen.
«La dictadura Perfecta», de Luis Estrada, quien presentó su filme en el balneario de Biarritz, en el suroeste de Francia, era la gran favorita a ganar el Premio del Público que los espectadores del certamen vascofrancés conceden mediante votación popular.
En sus dos proyecciones, la cinta satírica, que vendió 4.5 millones de entradas en los cines mexicanos, generó carcajadas y elogios del público que superó ampliamente los mil espectadores en su última proyección la noche del viernes, en un horario de privilegio acordado por el festival.
La película mexicana «Un monstruo de mil cabezas», de Rodrigo Plá, ganó el Premio del Jurado, el segundo en importancia que conceden los jueces encabezados este año por el escritor argentino Alan Pauls, que ejerció de presidente del jurado.
El filme, que cuenta la historia de una mujer desesperada y en guerra contra una aseguradora médica y que será estrenado en Francia en 2016 luego de obtener distribución en el país europeo, fue también muy bien recibido por el público y suscitó un largo debate en su proyección.
Se trata del segundo premio que recibe en Biarritz una película de Rodrigo Plá, director de cine uruguayo radicado en México.
En 2012, la actriz protagonista de su película «La demora», la uruguaya Roxana Blanco, fue galardonada con el premio a la mejor interpretación femenina de la 21 edición.
Luis Silva, el actor protagonista de la coproducción de México y Venezuela «Desde allá», que ganó el León de Oro del reciente festival de cine de Venecia, Italia, ganó el Premio a la Mejor Interpretación Masculina de este año en Biarritz.
El cine mexicano se llevó también una mención especial por el cortometraje «Domingo», de Raúl López Echeverría, y la directora de la coproducción argentino-mexicana «En la piel del otro», Natalia Bruschtein, fue becada para participar en una residencia del festival.
La película guatemalteca «Ixcanul-volcán», de Jayro Bustamante, ganó el Premio al Mejor Largometraje «Abrazo», el más importante del festival en cuya sección oficial compitieron 10 películas, tres de ellas mexicanas. El filme guatemalteco ganó además el Premio de la Crítica.
Los trofeos de los premios fueron entregados en una gala de clausura multitudinaria celebrada esta noche en el cine de la Gare de Midi, sede del festival, que este año tuvo una participación récord de unos 50 mil espectadores.
