Tijuana, Baja California ofrece diversidad al turismo nacional e internacional, como son el turismo de aventura, natural, de salud, gastronómico, cinegético y de deportes, destacó Oscar Escobedo Carignan.
El titular de la Secretaría de Turismo del estado (Secture) expuso, en entrevista, que Baja California tiene destinos extraordinarios y únicos en el mundo.
«Tenemos un turismo de aventura donde mantenemos un liderazgo a nivel nacional. Somos reconocidos con las Bajas 500, 1000, 250 y 300. En Baja California se puede pescar, bucear, surfear y pasear en kayak», expresó.
Además, señaló, los visitantes pueden acampar, «tenemos rappel, ciclismo, arenales y el observatorio de aves y ballenas, la cerveza artesanal, la ruta del vino, la ensalada César, artes, museos, Pueblo Mágico, parques, playas, antros».
Desde luego está el turismo de naturaleza. «Baja California cuenta con destinos extraordinarios, únicos en el mundo, como es La Rumorosa».
Se tiene, indicó, el llamado Valle de los Gigantes, con los cactus más grandes del mundo, «el Valle de los Cirios que es único; somos los dueños del acuario del mundo, que es el Mar de Cortés, ahí con las Islas de Bahía de los Ángeles».
Está asimismo el turismo de salud; «Baja California es el único en la República Mexicana que cuenta con una política pública de turismo de salud con dos consejos consultivos de turismo de salud y con una Dirección de Turismo de Salud».
Asentó que esta entidad recibe alrededor de un millón 250 mil personas «nada más en temas de turismo de salud»; «en tema de negocios, de convenciones, es un asunto muy importante para Tijuana y para Mexicali también».
Refirió que «últimamente tenemos un turismo extraordinario que es el turismo de gastronomía, con el maridaje de nuestros grandes vinos; Baja california cuenta con los mejores productos y más cotizados del mundo».
Aparte, anotó, «tenemos nuestra producción de vino de hortalizas y carne, eso nos da una materia prima; tenemos chefs extraordinarios con reconocimientos mundiales, ganamos el mejor desayuno del mundo hace poquito».
La ruta gastronómica es una experiencia cultural y única, «muestra de ello es que tenemos los eventos gastronómicos más importantes en la república mexicana. Nos hemos posicionado gastronómicamente a nivel internacional», agregó.
Baja California tiene diferentes nichos de mercado. «Tijuana y Mexicali se han posicionado con el tema de turismo de deportes con los Xolos, campeones nacionales, tenemos básquetbol y muchos otros eventos atléticos».
Asimismo se cuenta con «600 eventos en el año entre los conciertos del Valle de Guadalupe, demostraciones gastronómicas, eventos deportivos, olimpiadas nacionales», expresó.
Comentó que estiman cerrar este año con 18 millones de visitantes de Estados Unidos y «del interior de la República nada más al aeropuerto de Tijuana llegan cinco millones de personas al año, más todos los que llegan en automóvil por Sonora».
Desde luego, apuntó, se tienen los cruceros, «somos el puerto más ocupado en el Pacífico» y el segundo a nivel nacional, «recibimos 700 mil personas en Ensenada nada más en cruceros».
Se tienen básicamente varios nichos de mercados muy importantes, «si nos vamos con la frecuencia tenemos los visitantes que cruzan la frontera y se queda un día en las ciudades fronterizas».
Durante ese día de visita permanecen en Tijuana, Tecate o Mexicali y se regresan a su lugar de destino o cruzan la frontera de nuevo; también está el turista que se queda un par de días que comúnmente va a Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate y San Felipe.
