Santiago.- El ministro chileno de Relaciones Exteriores, Heraldo Muñoz, afirmó que el presidente de Bolivia, Evo Morales, «miente» e «insulta» al asegurar que Chile no citó al Comité de Fronteras, en la que se analizarían temas de interés común sobre la relación fronteriza. «Es evidente que al señor Evo Morales no le agrada la idea de realizar esta reunión del Comité de Fronteras, porque ha intentado torpedearla con nuevos insultos contra Chile», indicó Muñoz. La víspera, Morales señaló en su cuenta de la red social Twitter: «escuché que Chile fue quien pidió la reunión de autoridades del Comité de Fronteras, eso es totalmente falso», y afirmó que la «presidenta (chilena Michelle) Bachelet está secuestrada por la oligarquía pinochetista».
El canciller chileno señaló que Morales «lamentablemente miente e insulta, en primer lugar al sostener que Chile nunca convocó al Comité de Fronteras», y agregó que dicha reunión fue propuesta por su país en marzo pasado, para que se realizara en abril.
«Independientemente de sus insultos, que lo que buscan es frustrar esta reunión del Comité de Fronteras, vamos a ir de todas maneras» a la cita, prevista para el próximo 25 de julio en Santa Cruz, dijo Muñoz, tras reunirse con excancilleres y parlamentarios de las comisiones de Relaciones Exteriores del Congreso.
«No vamos a caer en el juego del señor Evo Morales, en sus provocaciones para suspender la reunión. Iremos a este Comité de Fronteras en Santa Cruz», aseveró.
Muñoz confirmó que la reunión tendrá carácter técnico y no ministerial, como habían informado medios bolivianos.
