Las bibliotecas no desaparecerán, pero se requiere que a la par de los bibliotecarios, se actualicen, señaló el especialista Julián Ochoa García, quien añadió que en la actualidad, las nuevas tecnologías de información y el uso de internet académico juegan un papel preponderante en el acceso a la información.
Al participar en el Ciclo de Conferencias “Del bibliotecario al infotecario”, organizado por la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, en el marco de la 1ª Feria Internacional del Libro del Estado de México (FILEM), el conferencista subrayó la importancia de estar actualizados, de perder el miedo a los recursos en línea y tener acceso a lo más reciente.
El acceso a internet, dijo, nos permite a los bibliotecarios tener una red y una manera de trabajar colaborativamente; resaltó que sabiendo usar bien internet es posible encontrar aliados en el ámbito educativo y en el acceso a la información, lo cual es esencial para los bibliotecarios.
“Permite tener acceso a las nuevas bases de datos, a los sistemas de información para acceder a la inteligencia colectiva y no sólo a las revistas especializadas o a los libros de texto, a lo que se genera día con día en la red de redes”.
En el Edificio de Rectoría de la UAEM, el especialista de la Universidad Panamericana destacó que acceder a la información abierta, al Open Access, donde se encuentra tanta información y recursos en línea gratuitos, como el portal de la UAEM Redalyc, Cielo y el propio Google, permiten acercarnos a información actualizada en los ámbitos de la ciencia y la educación.
Al hablar de la “Biblioteca digital: conceptos, recursos y estándares”, el especialista de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Saúl Martínez Equihua, refirió que herramientas como los libros electrónicos, las bases de datos, los catálogos en línea y sistemas de descubrimiento sirven al usuario para recuperar información y acceder al texto completo o a referencias en línea.
Saúl Martínez Equihua concluyó que sin lugar a dudas, internet tienen muchas ventajas, principalmente porque permite al usuario la ubicuidad, acceder al recurso desde cualquier parte donde se encuentre.
